Rucci Burnham’s Employment Law attorneys have a wealth of experience in all aspects of the employment relationship and offer a broad spectrum of legal representation in the many facets of Employment Law. While most law firms limit their practice to the representation of only one group, it has been our experience that seeing both perspectives provides valuable insights that better serve our clients’ interests and facilitates creative solutions to employment disputes. We regularly assist Employers and Employees in the negotiation and drafting of employment agreements and covenants not to compete.
Our Employment Law Group has substantial experience in negotiating and drafting severance agreements, including agreements for high-level executives from such companies as UBS, RBS, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, InBev and GE. (Please read Mark R. Carta's article on "Negotiating your Severance Agreement" in the Articles section of our website). Our Employment Law attorneys frequently give speeches and lead seminars on the topic of the negotiation and drafting of severance agreements.
Additionally, our Employment Law Group is well-versed in all employment-related laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”), the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), Title VII, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (“WARN”), and federal and state wage and hour laws. We represent Employees in actions against their Employers for violations of these laws, and defend Employers in such actions.
We also regularly counsel Employers in the proper execution of various employment-related actions and decisions, such as the administration of FMLA leave, termination of employment, implementation of disciplinary measures and wage and hour issues, which greatly reduces an Employer’s risk of litigation. Our Employment Law attorneys also have experience assisting Employers in drafting employment personnel manuals and in trade secret and patent protection.
