Business Law

Our Business Law Practice Group is committed to remaining on the cutting edge of developments in business law. It is an exciting time to be a corporate lawyer in Connecticut, as Connecticut has experienced revolutionary changes in its business law over the past several years. The adoption of the Connecticut Business Corporation Act in 1997 completely replaced forty years of jurisprudence under the old Stock Corporation Act and brought Connecticut law in line with the laws of the majority of other states. In doing so, Connecticut has completely changed the rules affecting corporate governance and has provided Connecticut businesses and lawyers with more tools and greater flexibility. Since 1977, the Connecticut Legislature appears to be committed to keeping Connecticut in pace with other Model Act states. Our Business Law Practice Group has not only kept abreast of changes in business law, our corporate partners have lectured on these changes in Connecticut business law before lawyers' trade associations, including The Regional Bar Association, the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association.
