MARK
R. CARTA
MARK R. CARTA is a partner and the head of the firm's litigation
practice. He practices in the areas of civil litigation
including employment matters,
construction disputes, fiduciary disputes, and litigation of
intellectual property rights. In addition to his trial work,
Mr. Carta has extensive experience in arbitration and mediation
proceedings and is a Certified Mediator.
Mr. Carta is a cum laude graduate
of the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University
of Connecticut School of Law where he was elected to The Connecticut
Law Review. Mr. Carta was formerly a federal law clerk and
the head of the litigation department in the Greenwich, Connecticut
office of the New York law firm of Whitman Breed Abbott &
Morgan.
In 2005, Mr. Carta
was selected as Fellow of The James W. Cooper Fellows Program
established by the Connecticut Bar Association. The program
is designed to promote a better understanding of the legal
profession, the judicial system, and administration of justice
in Connecticut. Fellows are selected based on a demonstrated
superior legal ability and devotion to the welfare of the
community, state, and nation, as well as to the advancement
of the legal profession. In addition, Mr. Carta has been appointed by the Connecticut Bar Association to serve on the panel of senior trial attorneys who resolve complaints filed by attorneys against other attorneys. The Regional Bar Association recently appointed Mr. Carta to serve as Co-Chair of its Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee.
