MARK R. CARTA

MARK R. CARTA is a partner and the head of the firm's litigation practice. He practices in the areas of civil litigation including employment matters, construction disputes, fiduciary disputes, and litigation of intellectual property rights. In addition to his trial work, Mr. Carta has extensive experience in arbitration and mediation proceedings and is a Certified Mediator.

Mr. Carta is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law where he was elected to The Connecticut Law Review. Mr. Carta was formerly a federal law clerk and the head of the litigation department in the Greenwich, Connecticut office of the New York law firm of Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan.

In 2005, Mr. Carta was selected as Fellow of The James W. Cooper Fellows Program established by the Connecticut Bar Association. The program is designed to promote a better understanding of the legal profession, the judicial system, and administration of justice in Connecticut. Fellows are selected based on a demonstrated superior legal ability and devotion to the welfare of the community, state, and nation, as well as to the advancement of the legal profession. The ADR Center (American Dispute Resolution Center) has added Attorney Mark R. Carta to their select list of mediators and arbitrators. In addition, Mr. Carta has been appointed by the Connecticut Bar Association to serve on the panel of senior trial attorneys who resolve complaints filed by attorneys against other attorneys. The Regional Bar Association appointed Mr. Carta to serve as Co-Chair of its Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee.
